Netlift's transportation solution now includes taxisMONTRÉAL, Oct. 18, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The company behind Netlift, the Montréal-based carpooling app, today announced that its urban mobility solution will include transportation of passengers by taxi from now on, and that Netlift will henceforth be a planned transportation app. Starting November 20, residents of the central Montréal region wishing to plan their travels using the app will be able to carpool or, if no driver are available, get a taxi ride. Netlift members will thus be sure of reaching their destination via one mode of transportation or another. According to a Polytechnique Montréal study, taxis are without passengers more than 70% of the time. Netlift plansto maximize use of taxis in the city by using their services during their downtime, in the process meeting demand from its users in planned transportation mode. "We want to help energize the taxi industry by providing new opportunities to drivers and owners, while guaranteeing hassle-free travel for Netlift members," said Benoît Jugand, Netlift's Vice-President, Taxi Operations and Public Affairs.
