Net profit of KCell mobile operating in Kazakhstan grows by mere 1.1% y/y in Jan-Sep. [IntelliNews - Weekly Reports]


(IntelliNews - Weekly Reports Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Net profit of KCell grew by 1.1% y/y to KZT 45.6bn (USD 251mn) in Jan-Sep, the mobile operator has informed. Revenues went up by 2.3% y/y to KZT 141.3bn. Growth in profit and revenues was driven by an increase in demand for mobile and Internet services.  The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization, excluding non-recurring items increased 6.2% y/y yo KZT 80.83bn.



According to the company's acting CEO Rikard Slunga, the company  continued to introduce new products and mobile financial services as well as expanding the mobile payments market.

KCell is controlled by Sweden-based TeliaSonera. The company has 13.064mn subscribers while Kazakhstan's population amounts to 17mn people. KCell is the largest mobile operator in Kazakhstan.
