NBN defends satellite deals

Apr 16, 2012 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Opposition has criticised NBN Co's handling of contracts for the development and launch of satellites for the national broadband network. NBN Co CEO Mike Quigley told a parliamentary committee hearing that the entity had signed contracts for the satellites, but had not secured permission to use orbital parking positions. He said there was a remote possibility that the satellites could not be parked in their expected positions and would need to be modified.
