Naxos’s ClassicsOnline launches online classical MP3 collection

(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Naxos has announced that music enthusiasts and audiophiles worldwide
can now visit www.ClassicsOnline.com – an online, independent classical
music store – and begin downloading from what is being claimed as the
largest online classical music catalogue at 320 kbps. Membership is
free and includes three free tracks/downloads.

ClassicsOnline features titles from more than 100 independent labels
and was first launched in May 2007.

ClassicsOnline includes search features by which visitors can search
for composers, works, albums and artists alphabetically and by keyword
search, with a special advanced search; prices typically in the range
of $.99 for a track and $6.99 to $9.99 for an album; free

listening/sampling of every track; digital rights management (DRM) free
so listeners can “burn? tracks to an unlimited number of CDs for
personal use and can transfer them to nearly every mp3 player,
including the iPod; and a focus on independent labels and repertoire
not available on other sites.
