National Department of Justice Invests Nearly $700,000 in Kofax Software to Improve Legal Services

Kofax® Limited (NASDAQ and LSE: KFX), a leading provider of smart process applications for the business critical First Mile™ of customer interactions, today announced that the Department of Justice (DoJ) for a large international government has invested nearly $700,000 in Kofax Capture™, Kofax Web Capture™, Kofax Transformation Modules™ and Kofax Monitor™ to optimize case management, realize operational efficiencies and improve legal services to residents.

The Kofax solution will be used to digitize, organize and more efficiently manage over 20 million legal and related documents generated annually by the DoJ's 1,500 courts, magistrates and constabulary entities. The DoJ will significantly cut operating costs and improve customer service by automating manual processes across the entire country. Real-time monitoring and performance analytics allow the customer to continually improve efficiency, ensuring the entire system operates at optimal levels.

"The sheer volume of documents processed through the Department of Justice is staggering," said Howard Dratler, Executive Vice President of Field Operations at Kofax. "With the Kofax solution, this customer will more efficiently manage all the information associated with court services, dramatically improve service levels for all constituents and significantly reduce costs."

Kofax Capture provides industry leading scan-to-archive capabilities by scaning documents and forms to create digital images, extracting index data for retrieval purposes and delivering the images and associated data to a variety of repositories and applications. This can significantly reduce retrieval costs while improving regulatory and compliance efforts.

Kofax Web Capture is a comprehensive toolkit that "scan and image enables" web applications, allowing organizations to extend information capture beyond firewalls to customer facing portals.

Kofax Transformation Modules add document classification, page separation, data extraction and validation capabilities to Kofax Capture to drive robust capture-to-process applications. By automating what were previously labor intensive, error prone and time consuming tasks, Kofax Transformation Modules can significantly reduce labor costs, improve information quality and accelerate business processes.

Kofax Monitor enables real-time monitoring and performance measurement to ensure the operational health of the entire Kofax software suite.

The sale closed in the first quarter of Kofax's fiscal year 2015 and totaled approximately $500,000 in software license and $200,000 in maintenance and professional services revenue.
