NASA releases its 50-year documentary

(UPI Science News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The U.S. space agency is celebrating its 50th anniversary with the premier of the documentary 50 Years of Exploration: The Golden Anniversary of NASA.

The 90-minute video, hosted by former astronaut Neil Armstrong, is to be aired Wednesday at 9 p.m. on NASA Television's public and education channels.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration documentary features film and video highlights of the agency's first half-century. Included are insights and perspectives from astronauts, scientists, engineers and others whose contributions have helped shepherd America's space program, NASA said



Interviews include former NASA astronaut and U.S. Senator John Glenn, Apollo Flight Director Gene Kranz, author Ray Bradbury, NASA scientist and Nobel Prize winner John Mather and former presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

The documentary will be re-broadcast on NASA TV at 1, 5 and 9 p.m. EDT both Thursday and Friday.
