MTV acquires game developer

MTV acquires game developer

(UPI Entertainment News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Viacom-owned MTV Networks has acquired video game developer Social Express Inc., observers say.

The Los Angeles Times said financial terms were not disclosed.

The games developer will be integrated into MTV's Nickelodeon Digital Group, which has the company's online gaming assets.

Social Express's chief executive, Tony Espinoza, was a co-founder of the virtual world SuperSecret.com, the Times said. Espinoza has been tapped as vice president of social gaming for MTV, while Social Express co-founder Neil Souza is set to be vice president of technology, social games.
