Mobile commerce company mPoria announced the launch of its GoMobile!
m-Commerce Wizard-a guided, online service that enables mPoria's retail
customers to set-up and launch their own mobile stores without any need
for in-house technical resources.
mPoria said that it is the first m-commerce technology provider to
offer such a service, opening the door for thousands of retailers of
any size, across any vertical, to take advantage of the growing $64B
mobile commerce market.
According to mPoria's CEO Dan Wright, "Retailers are operating in a
highly competitive and fast-paced market and the mobile channel
provides a lucrative opportunity for their businesses. Many of these
merchants however, do not have IT resources to dedicate to the channel.
With this online wizard we've enhanced mPoria's GoMobile! m-commerce
service to enable all merchants-regardless of their IT capabilities-to
quickly and easily manage the process of site set-up and launch."
As one of the fastest growing sales and marketing channels within the
retail industry, mobile commerce offers significant revenue
opportunities to retailers. According to analyst group Juniper
Research, there are more than 236 million U.S. mobile phone users and
2.9 billion users worldwide poised to access the m-commerce market. The
firm's lead wireless analyst Alan Goode said, "The modern mobile phone
and mobile network provides unparalleled levels of commercial
potential. We have entered the m-commerce era-and this era will see all
of its expectations met."
Once a merchant signs up for mPoria's GoMobile! service, they are
guided through a simple set-up process using intuitive point-and-click
features and pull-down menus. The system accommodates each retailer's
unique branding requirements, shipping, and sales tax policies;
supports various product feed formats; and offers real-time reporting
on consumer visits and merchandise orders. Once a merchant completes
the simple set-up process, their mobile store goes live and is
accessible to millions of consumers on the mobile web.
