MP2 Solutions and Tenex Software Partner to Provide Mobile Automated Voter Validation Solutions for County Offices

TAMPA, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- MP2 Solutions (MP2) and Tenex Software (Tenex) announced today the release of a mobile voter validation solution called Precinct Central that will be used this November and in the 2008 elections in multiple Florida counties. The Precinct Central, designed to provide a superior mobile solution for automating voter check-in and verification, reduces voter wait time, increases accuracy, and applies consistent exceptions handling standards to each voter.

Precinct Central was developed by Tenex and runs on MP2's MRT320 series handheld terminal with capabilities to automate the setup, management, and collection of voter validation information. Initial estimates from pilot tests in Polk County, Florida estimate that voters spend less time in the line and poll worker effort in dealing with complex situations is significantly reduced. Precinct Central also significantly reduces the labor intensive work of recording, reconciling and reporting on voting history, provisional voting, and ballot bookkeeping.

The Precinct Central - Electronic Poll Book software effectively leverages all the on-board peripherals of the all-in-one MRT320 device. Using the magnetic card reader, voters swipe their drivers' license and are quickly identified. The touch-screen enabled panel allows voters to sign electronically. The software accurately identifies the ballot to be handed over to the voter and by using the bar-code scanner ensures the delivery of the correct ballot to each voter. A voter-check in slip is printed for each voter to provide a paper backup.
