Motorola Opens Android Application Store in China


BEIJING, Jan 22, 2010 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) unveiled its Android application store in China, enabling consumers in the country to find, buy, as well as download applications tailored for Android-based mobile phones.



The application store will support Android opening ecological system and be licenses to other manufacturers and partners in China.

In addition, the mobile phone maker announced the new feature of Motorola Android mobile phones. Users can choose search service providers, like Baidu, Inc. (Nasdaq: BIDU) and other companies, and select tailored Android terminal devices.


Developers in China now can submit their Android applications to the store via http://developer.,otorola.com. Users can obtain applications through the app store or search services offered by partners from the first quarter of 2010.

Motorola currently releases XT800, an Android mobile phones customized for China Telecom Corporation Ltd. (NYSE: CHA and SEHK: 0728). New models, including BackFlip, ME600, XT701, and Droid/Milestone, will hit the market in the near future.
