Mocana Atlas Extended Enterprise Engine Achieves Broad, Rapid Acceptance Among Fortune-Class Early Adopters

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

Mocana (News - Alert) today reported that since the launch of its Atlas™ early adopter program in February, the company's Atlas extended enterprise engine has been enthusiastically received by a broad range of major Fortune-class companies who have advanced straight into technical evaluation trials and co-development partnerships. Among the high-profile companies and organizations participating in the first round of the Atlas early adopter program are a leading consumer products company, a top-five U.S. financial institution, a top-five global telecommunications provider and a government agency.

Mocana also announced the availability of version 3.0 of its Mobile App Protection (MAP™) security solution, which is now tightly integrated into the Atlas appliance to create a complete end-to-end enterprise mobility platform. The integration of MAP 3.0 with the Atlas appliance enables enterprises to overcome the most difficult challenge they face when mobilizing enterprise applications by virtually eliminating deployment and configuration complexity, while significantly improving the end-user experience.

"We are overwhelmed by the positive response we have received from our initial market outreach, which reaffirms our strategy and vision for enterprise mobility and has resulted in the first round of early adopter recruitment being oversubscribed," said John Aisien, senior vice president of marketing and corporate development at Mocana. "This early success confirms that we have the right formula for addressing organizations' previously unmet demand for securely enabling the long tail of enterprise mobile applications at scale, across managed and unmanaged devices, while providing the user with the most consumer-friendly experience."

According to Aisien, the knowledge Mocana has gained from the specific requirements of these early adopters is helping the company refine the functional and architectural scope required to make the Atlas platform even more widely applicable to the broader market.

Building on its Atlas adoption success, Mocana is issuing a second round of invitations for early adopters tobecome enterprise mobility leaders and help revolutionize traditional approaches to enterprise mobile application adoption within their industry. General Availability of MAP 3.0

The MAP 3.0 release builds on the success of Mocana's industry-leading app wrapping solution to deliver the first practical solution IT organizations can deploy to realize the full potential of enterprise mobility. Because MAP 3.0 is now tightly integrated with the Atlas appliance, Mocana's flagship offering has been transformed from a client-focused solution to a complete end-to-end enterprise mobility platform.

All mobile apps wrapped with MAP 3.0 are now automatically Atlas-ready, enabling them to be provisioned wirelessly, report on device jailbreak/rooting status, take advantage of Active Directory authentication, support SCEP-based certificate provisioning and take advantage of all the capabilities made possible by the Atlas engine.

The incorporation of MAP 3.0 into the Atlas engine also enables numerous unique end-user experience benefits. User authentication and authorization have been improved, simplified and made more consumer-ready. The enrollment process for new users securely provisions them with digital certificates, and the platform subsequently enables these certificates to be used transparently for two-factor authentication.

"Customer feedback has always played a central role in Mocana's product strategy, and it has validated our focus on providing a solution that eliminates virtually all of the complexity of deploying mobility for the extended enterprise," said Alan Panezic (News - Alert), vice president of products at Mocana. "We've now taken it to the next level and developed a complete end-to-end solution that gives enterprises the tools with the ease of use and cost model they need to go big with mobility."

Mocana MAP 3.0 accelerates wide-scale deployment of enterprise mobile apps with true app security automation that easily and reliably adds a security shield in seconds to third-party, hybrid and custom enterprise apps designed for B2E and B2B applications, regardless of device platform and without the need to write any code. With its application-centric model of security and by decoupling per-app security from app development, Mocana MAP helps enterprises maintain the security of sensitive enterprise data across a broad range of devices and apps, focus on real business innovation and scale, and meet the challenges of enterprise mobility.

MAP 3.0 also helps enterprises meet compliance and audit requirements, such as HIPAA and PCI (News - Alert), by automating and standardizing security implementations across all the apps in an enterprise, whether they were developed internally or by third parties. With MAP, enterprises don't have to penetration test, audit and certify every new app for security. Instead, enterprises merely certify a single app security process once.
