Mobistar to buy back your 4G smartphone at guaranteed price through its new MySwap service


(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 30 September 2014 Release date- 29092014 - Brussels - Mobistar is launching MySwap, a new option that guarantees your 4G smartphone will be bought back by up to 50% of its purchase price within 2 years.



MySwap costs just 3 euros per month and is available for a selection of 4G smartphones by brands such as Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Sony and Huawei. This unique and practical offer benefits all smartphone fans who like having the latest model. Mobistar is the first operator to launch a 'guaranteed-price buy-back' option for smartphones on the European market.

MySwap is a new service for smartphone users who wish to always have the latest technology available. According to a study conducted by GfK Significant in April 2014, one in five smartphone users replace their device within two years so that they can always have the latest model. MySwap meets this demand in a simple and beneficial manner.


MySwap is available to new and existing postpaid Mobistar customers on purchasing a 4G smartphone at the full price or a subsidised one, for just 3 euros per month. MySwap can be activated up to six months after the smartphone is purchased. Mobistar guarantees the old 4G smartphone will be bought back at 50% of its purchase price if a new model is bought back within 12 months. If an exhange is made within 12 and 24 months, the customer is guaranteed to receive 40% of the initial purchase price. For example, if a customer today buys a new iPhone for 700 euros, Mobistar guarantees it will buy it back for 350 euros within the same year and for 280 euros the following year when a new 4G smartphone is purchased.

MySwap is available for a selection of 4G smartphones: the iPhone 5C, 5S, 6 and 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5, Huawei Ascend P7, Sony Experia Z2 and T3 and Nokia Lumia 930. Other smartphones will soon be added to this list.

Smartphones bought back as part of the MySwap offer are intended for a Mobistar partner which oversees their handling. Nowadays 25% of smartphones are sent for recycling by their owner (30% for classic GMSs). Around one in two smartphone users keep their old smartphone as an emergency device when they buy a new model and 16% offer them to friends or family. With MySwap, smartphone users now have an alternative way of adding value to their old device.
