Mobile API Provider Pingup Appoints Ron Braunfeld as VP of Business Development


Pingup, provider of the industry's first mobile API that enables directories and software providers to easily add booking capabilities to business listings, today announced the addition of Ron Braunfeld as vice president of business development. Braunfeld, who brings nearly two decades of experience in the mobile and Internet ecosystem, will focus on building strategic relationships with publishers and listing providers to drive adoption for Pingup's groundbreaking API. He will also be responsible for implementing business initiatives to bring the power of "book it now" to mobile consumers everywhere.

Prior to joining Pingup, Braunfeld was vice president of business development at WHERE, Inc., which was later acquired by PayPal (News - Alert). During his time at WHERE, Braunfeld drove product distribution and strategic revenue, generating opportunities across the mobile ecosystem, including EOMs, operators and publishers.

Braunfeld has also served as the president f SnipSnap, the first mobile app that allows consumers to scan, save and redeem printed coupons on the go. Thanks to Braunfeld's leadership, SnipSnap is approaching four million users who have snipped more than 70 million coupons. He has also held senior business development positions at MapQuest and eCal.
