Mixpanel Founders Give Back to Early Stage Companies with 20 Million Free Data Points and Resources to Innovate

Mixpanel, the leading provider of product analytics, today announced a new initiative to foster innovation amongst early stage businesses. Inspired to jump start a community for aspiring inventors, co-founders Suhail Doshi and Tim Trefren grant every participating company with 20 million free data points to encourage product development and innovation. In addition to data points, participants will also receive exclusive toolkits and recommendations from product experts who have navigated the difficult journey of building technology products from seed stage to scale.

After eight years of building Mixpanel from the ground up, Doshi and Trefren recognize how essential a strong support network was for their personal and company development. Mixpanel is motivated to give back to the entrepreneurial community that helped their company succeed, scaling from one to nearly 20,000 customers.

"The most innovative and successful companies didn't do it alone. They had a lot of support along the way," said Doshi, CEO of Mixpanel, "And while entrepreneurs work tirelessly, success requires a certain amount of luck and opportunity. However, not all startups get equal access to top incubator programs or venture-backed mentorship."

"Tim and I wanted to start an initiative to help every entrepreneur get the resources they need - including the data" continued Doshi. "We wanted to level the playing field for product leaders and set companies up for success during their early days."

Providing startups with the ability to track and analyze large volumes of user actions and measure user engagement in real-time is vital when businesses develop, iterate and launch core product lines. In addition to 20 million free data points, Mixpanel will provide free consulting and implementation support, product wisdom from experts in the field, as well as early access to beta programs and new tools.

"Building a startup is hard, and finding the right tools and exact advice for your specific company can be a painful process," said Trefren. "Suhail and I were fortunate to have Y Combinator which guided us in the right direction. But even then, we still struggled through major growing pains. Looking back, we realize that getting your product in place and understanding your users, first and foremost, is foundational for long term success. Now, we want to have a hand in helping other companies innovate and build products faster."

Participants in this startup initiative will gain access to Mixpanel, the community and exclusive resources and perks, such as:

  • 20 million free data points and top reporting tools in order to discover key product insights;
  • Extended support and services from Mixpanel;
  • Virtual content and events from industry luminaries;
  • Early access to cutting edge products through beta programs;
  • Curated networking to help companies incubate and strategize their next innovation or business initiative.
