Mimecast announces integration of services with Microsoft BPOS

(Telecomworldwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mimecast, a provider of cloud-based e-mail security, announced today that its services now fully integrate with Microsoft's hosted e-mail platform Microsoft Business Productivity Online Standard Suite (BPOS).

The company said that BPOS is Microsoft's first e-mail solution delivered entirely through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, which aligns with Mimecast's cloud-based services. The SaaS model is already available for Microsoft's on-premise solution, Exchange 2010.

The new Mimecast service for Microsoft BPOS offers benefits that include the elimination of risk during migration as Mimecast acts as a failsafe for users, providing a 100% availability SLA to keep businesses running at all times. Other benefits include a long-term independent e-mail archive which stores all e-mails, including those deleted by users, for up to 10 years. The solution also offers advanced eDiscovery and legal hold capabilities, enabling organisations to meet growing legal and compliance requirements. Combined with the system's Outlook-integrated search tools, Mimecast's archiving capability allows designated staff to identify and retrieve evidential quality data in compliance with legal restrictions.
