A meeting of heads of security agencies of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan took place in Osh

With a purpose of positively developing and strengthening interstate relations of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, on the instructions of Presidents Kurmanbek Bakiyev and Islam Karimov,
a meeting of security agencies of neighbor states took place in Osh on June 26. Interior Minister Moldomusa Kongantiev, Prosecutor General Elmurza Satybaldiev, Head of the State Committee on National Security Murat Sutalinov attended the meeting from Kyrgyzstan, Interior Minister Bahadyr Malyubov, Prosecutor General Rashidzhan Kadyrov, Chairman of National Security Service Rustan Inoyatov - from Uzbekistan. Numerous issues of bilateral interaction and cooperation of security agencies in fighting with trans-national organized crime, religious extremism and terrorism, on fighting with drug business and drug trafficking were discussed at the meeting. The parties discussed issues of searching, arresting and extraditing criminals and boundary problems of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The parties discussed accumulated problems and expressed opinion on interest in development of cooperation and close interaction in solution of tasks on providing public safety. On the results of reached agreements, the next day, on June 27 a working meeting of the heads of interior affairs departments, prosecutor offices of Osh, Jalalabad and Batken oblasts with counterparts deom boundary regions of Uzbekistan: Abdizhan, Ferghana and Namangan oblasts took place in Khanabad. The parties discussed and planned to conduct numerous operative events aimed to fight with criminality, provide stability and public safety.
