Media Alert: Institute for Commercialization of Public Research to Launch Florida Patent Pro Bono Program at events in Miami and Tampa


The Institute for Commercialization of Public Research (the Institute) will announce the launch of the Florida Patent Pro Bono Program on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the eMerge Americas Conference in Miami, and at a launch reception on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Tampa. The Institute is working with U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to support this national initiative that links qualified inventors and small businesses with volunteer patent agents and attorneys who provide pro bono legal assistance on specific aspects of the patent process.

  • Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 5:30 at the USF Research Park Embassy Suites Galleria, 3705 Spectrum (News - Alert) Blvd, Tampa, FL 33612 featuring T. David Petite, prolific inventor and founder of Native American Intellectual Property Enterprise Council, one of the five early key inventors of wireless ad hoc network or wireless mesh technology.

Jennifer McDowell, Patent Pro Bono Program Coordinator and Attorney for the United States Patent & Trademark Office will present at both events.
