Media Advisory: Elevation of Archbishop Thomas Collins to the College of Cardinals

Cardinal-delegate Thomas Christopher Collins, Archbishop of Toronto, will be elevated to the College of Cardinals of the Catholic Church on February 18 in Rome. With this appointment, Archbishop Collins becomes the fourth cardinal in the 110-year history of the church in Toronto and the 16th cardinal in the history of the Roman Catholic Church in Canada.
While the formal ceremonies with the Pope at the Vatican take place this weekend, several days of events are planned to commemorate this historic occasion. A delegation of 200 Canadians will be in Rome this week to experience the event.
The following is a list of possible media opportunities and resources available for local media outlets through the week leading up to and following the Consistory of Cardinals on February 18.
