MarkLogic Named a Leader in the Gartner® 2015 Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems

MarkLogic Corporation, the world's largest Enterprise NoSQL database platform provider, today announced Gartner (News - Alert) has positioned the company as a Leader in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems. The new report marks the second consecutive year that Gartner has positioned MarkLogic a Leader based on its completeness of vision and ability to execute.

"This market is evolving as organizations continue to search for the best solution to derive the most value from their data. Relational databases struggle to keep up with today's pace of change and open source NoSQL solutions lack the hardened enterprise capabilities and breakthrough features customers need," said Gary Bloom, president and chief executive officer, MarkLogic. "For over a decade, MarkLogic has been at the forefront bringing to market a new generation of database that combines enterprise capabilities with the flexibility, agility and power organizations expect to capitalize on all of their data. Our accelerated market adoption and our continued leadership position in Gartner's Magic Quadrant are proof points that our strategy, investments made across the company, and advanced database capabilities are redefining the database industry."

As the industry's most trusted Enterprise NoSQL solution for over 13 years, MarkLogic has more than 550 global enterprises and government customers that have deployed the MarkLogic database in production to run mission-critical operational and transactional applications requiring government grade security, high availability and one hundred percent data reliability. MarkLogic provides the unique combination of enterprise features found in traditional relational database with the scalability and flexibility of NoSQL.

"We were looking for a robust platform on which to build numerous data-intensive applications to better serve our customers. In order to identify the platform, we conducted an internal test that included open source, a relational database with Oracle (News - Alert), and Enterprise NoSQL with MarkLogic, among others," said Paolo Pelizzoli, senior vice president and global head of architecture, Broadridge Financial. "MarkLogic proved its value from the onset-its ability to quickly and affordably integrate vast amounts of data promised a rapid time to value for us. MarkLogic gave us the flexibility of open source with the enterprise features found in relational databases, in addition to valuable functionality like search, semantics and bitemporal. MarkLogic is, and will continue to be, the cornerstone for our revenue-driving big data applications."

The MarkLogic database is the only platform for today's demanding applications, ensuring rapid time to value, enterprise grade security and reliability, and exceptional power features not found in any other SQL and NoSQL offering. MarkLogic's database architecture includes advanced indexing capabilities, scale-out architecture, native ACID support, high availability and disaster recovery support, Semantics, bitemporal capability, and tiered storage. These powerful features help customers drive revenue, streamline operations, manage risk and make the world safe.
