MAG Group Taps Rainer Schmueckle as CEO [Travel & Leisure Close - Up]


(Travel & Leisure Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The international MAG Group has appointed Rainer Schmueckle as new Chief Executive Officer.

According to a company release, he succeeds MAG founder Mo Meidar, who will continue his involvement with MAG as the Chairman of the global MAG board.

Meidar said: "Rainer Schmueckle held several leading management positions at international level, both at automotive manufacturers and automotive suppliers. It is an honor to hand the job of CEO over to a person of the stature and caliber of Rainer Schmueckle and testament to the attractiveness of the business that MAG stands for. Under his stewardship, MAG will advance to the next level to become the premier machine tools manufacturer for the global automotive industry ensuring longterm success for our customers, employees and investors." Schmueckle worked for more than 25 years for the Daimler Group. Most recently he held the position of COO Automotive Experience at Johnson Controls.




Heiner Lang, President of MAG Europe and Asia, said: "Cryogenic machining represents a major leap in manufacturing technology and heralds a paradigm shift similar to the dry cutting technology in the 1990s." Reiner Beutel, CFO, said: "Our new, clear positioning and the simplification of our organizational structure will further support our goal to go public in the medium term."
