Louis Boudreault celebrates the power of the word at Espace musée QuébecorMONTRÉAL, Feb. 11, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - The eminent Québec artist Louis Boudreault is back at Espace musée Québecor for his fourth one-man show at Quebecor's head office gallery. Visitors to his three-part show in 2014 and 2015 were captivated by his portraits of famous local and international figures as children. His latest show, Fragments d'écriture, features quotes from the great poets, authors and singers who have inspired him. It is an ode to the force and beauty of words. "I discovered Louis a few years ago on the Magdalen Islands and I was blown away by his talent and his unique vision," says Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor. "Showing his work is a privilege for Espace musée Québecor, a gallery dedicated to promoting our artists and making Québec art and culture accessible to all." Fragments d'écriture is a call to introspection and a celebration of the power and resilience of words. Visitors to the exhibition will find quotes embroidered in multicoloured thread on huge white canvases. The texts are drawn from distinguished Québec artists including Félix Leclerc, , Gaston Miron and Émile Nelligan, and major writers and thinkers such as Montaigne, Duras and Flaubert. The 17 quotes from works of significance to the artist weave an elegant combination of words and image, literature and the visual arts. The exhibition runs from February 11 through April 15, 2019. Espace musée Québecor is open to the public 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday.
