Lithium Celebrates Community Manager Appreciation Day

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of Community Manager Appreciation Day, Lithium Technologies today announced the launch of the "Community Star Spotlight" blog series and "Caption This" contest. Community managers are on the front lines of customer experience. Everyday they engage with customers across social platforms to answer questions, provide product information, and promote brand awareness to ultimately deliver a great digital experience.

The Lithium community has over 550 Lithium Certified Community Managers, who have contributed nearly 30,000 posts and authored over 1,100 accepted solutions. In 2014, the Lithium Certified Community Managers spent more than 1.8 million minutes (or 1,303 days) on the Lithium community connecting with fellow members and deepening their knowledge in the practice of community management.

"Today marks the five year anniversary of Community Manager Appreciation Day and I'm excited to see how far we've come at Lithium. We know how important community managers are to the businesses and the customers they serve," said Rob Tarkoff, President and CEO of Lithium. "In fact, community managers are largely responsible for coaching executives on community best practices. To the hundreds of community managers who are keeping our 400 live communities vibrant, we salute you."

The "Community Star Spotlight" blog series launches today and will feature videos and community manager profiles to celebrate the top community managers in the industry. In the videos, community managers will share their best kept success secrets, unveil strategies to overcome common community obstacles - like budget and C-suite buy-in- and their most innovative, creative campaigns that have yielded successful engagement and ROI metrics. The blog series can be found at Community Star Spotlight on the Lithium Community and kicks-off with Jenn Chen of Demandforce.

Lithium is also asking community members to participate in a "Caption This" contest. Please visit the Lithium Community and simply submit a caption or quote for the selected photo. Enter a caption anytime between Monday, January 26, 2015 through Friday, February 6, 2015 midnight PT. The most creative caption will win Lithium's Community Manager Certification training and, for a Lithium customer or qualified prospect, a free pass to LiNC 2015, taking place on June 1 – 3, 2015 in San Francisco.

The Lithium Community Manager Certification training gives community managers the opportunity to learn best practices, master Lithium products and hone skills as a practitioner. The course is taught by thought-leaders and subject matter experts with real-world implementation experience. The training provides valuable insight, such as: managing super users, driving community engagement/growth, managing employee participation, and how community managers can help communicate ROI through analytics.

If you would like to be featured in the "Community Star Spotlight" blog series or would like to nominate a community manager to be featured, please email [email protected].
