Lisa Walker, I3A President, to Be Featured Panelist on Topic of Consumer Photo Archiving at Digital Imaging '08, Oct. 16
WAKEFIELD, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- The International Imaging Industry Association (I3A, the leading global association for the imaging industry; http://www.i3a.org) announced today that the organization's President, Lisa Walker, is to be a featured panelist at next week's Digital Imaging '08 (http://www.infotrends.com).
The InfoTrends event takes place October 15-16 in Burlingame, Calif. The panel, entitled "Just How Valuable Are Those Photos?," is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
Walker's remarks will draw from I3A's comprehensive recent work in consumer digital photo preservation, including creation of the informative Web site www.SaveMyMemories.org. She will outline the risks consumers face with their exponentially growing collections of stored image files, the options available to mitigate risk, and the opportunities and challenges for the imaging industry that arise from this issue.
"Photography has helped people capture and share their lives with others for more than 150 years, from printed photos and albums, to today's online sharing and social networking sites. The imaging industry must now support and nurture that unique and trusting relationship with consumers by creating solutions to address the challenge of dealing with the massive volume of their digital photo collections," said Walker.
