Liaison Technologies Powered Georgia Health Connect is Now Fully Integrated with the Georgia Health Information Network

ATLANTA, March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Liaison Technologies, an industry-recognized leader in cloud-enabled data integration and data management offerings, today announced that Georgia Health Connect (GaHC), a health information exchange (HIE) powered by Liaison's Health Data platform, is now fully integrated with the Georgia Health Information Network (GaHIN).

GaHC is one of several regional HIEs in Georgia benefitting from GaHIN's support and expertise, and is able to provide access to comprehensive and up-to-date patient information throughout the state and nationally. Founded by the Georgia Regional Health Information Extension Center (GA-HITEC), GaHC's solution gives healthcare providers in rural and underserved areas access to the same level of state-of-the-art technology and high-quality customer support as their larger counterparts.

"The GaHC and GaHIN connection provided by Liaison's cloud-based technology platform expands the performance and reach potential for statewide provider communication and collaboration," said Dr. Dominic Mack, Executive Medical Director for GaHC and Co-Director with the National Center for Primary Care at Morehouse School of Medicine. "Better access to individualized healthcare data by doctors, nurses, and other clinicians will ultimately translate into improved patient care while streamlining workflow, minimizing administrative costs, and reducing potential patient care risks due to medication and medical errrs."

Liaison is a recognized leader in cloud-enabled data integration and management solutions. The company's innovative approach to data integration and data management empowers world-class businesses to thrive regardless of today's toughest data challenges.

Through this strategic relationship, Liaison's solutions power GaHC and provide the network's members with critical capabilities including electronic access to aggregated patient information as well as lab and radiology connectivity. Liaison connects GaHC to GaHIN using Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) interoperability standards so that patient health information is bi-directionally exchanged between the two networks which ensures GaHC patient data is available statewide and nationwide—and vice-versa.

"We're excited that the work we started last November to connect GaHC and GaHIN with Liaison's platform is now complete," said Gary Palgon, VP Healthcare Solutions at Liaison Technologies. "This integration is validation that Liaison's innovative cloud-enabled platform approach is enabling improvement in patient care while optimizing healthcare enterprise business performance."
