LGBTQutie Creates Crowdrise Campaign to Launch LGBTQutie Mobile App

NEW YORK, April 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Since it exploded on the scene just over one year ago, LGBTQutie (http://lgbtqutie.com), the online relationship and social networking site for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, pansexual, asexual, non-binary and intersex individuals, has grown to include tens of thousands of members. The next step is a mobile app - something LGBTQutie members have been extremely vocal about. Now, the site is one step closer to launching the "LGBTQutie on the Go" app, thanks to a new Crowdrise funding campaign.

The Crowdrise campaign is running for just one month--from April 29th to May 29th. LGBTQutie founders Rachel Kimelman and Jordan Weiss are confident that their community will rise to the challenge.

"We have been overwhelmed with requests from members demanding that we create a mobile app for LBTQutie," Weiss explained. "We want to continue to meet the needs of our consumers, who are increasingly going mobile. With a successful Crowdrise campaign, LGBTQutie members will soon be able to enjoy LGBTQutie on the Go."

LGBTQutie launched in New York in November 2013. From the start, it was different from the rest. While many gay and lesbian dating sites focus on hook-ups, Kimelman and Weiss were careful to create a site that caters to people wanting romantic relationships and friendships. It struck a chord within the LGBTQ community, and six months later, LGBTQutie expanded to include members nationwide.

Today, LGBTQutie offers its users a unique content-specific platform, including a blog with topics relevant to the LGBTQ community and a user-generated events page. Membership is free and allows members to view and communicate with others; premium membership includes enhanced features like video chat, advanced search functions, seeing who viewed your profile, and more. Every LGBTQutie member has the option to complete a free "Relationship Readiness" quiz as part of the sign-up process, which Kimelman and Weiss say helps ensure the majority of the site's members are actually interested in a relationship.

"We've been growing very quickly, and we're now ready to take LGBTQutie to the next level," said Kimelman. "While LGBTQutie is mobile optimized, it does not currently have an app. We think our members will rally around the cause, spread the word, and help us end our Crowdrise campaign fully funded so we can bring them the app they want."
