Lexia hits the acquisitions trail..taking its turnover up to GBP50m
(Yorkshire Evening Post Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) LEEDS-based environmental services business Lexia Solutions Group has hit the acquisitions trail.
The business, created in February, 2004, has acquired Hertfordshire-based Life Environmental Services Ltd, and its four specialist companies.
The deal means Lexia is now one of the UK's leading environmental solutions groups for all aspects of asbestos abatement, demolition, project management, training, consultancy, property reinstatement and land remediation work.
The acquisition of Life Environmental Services will take Lexia Solutions Group's annual turnover to GBP50m and will increase staff numbers to 475.
Jason Davy, managing director of Lexia Solutions Group, said: "The acquisitions present a significant and exciting new chapter in our growth.
"Working with an industry leader like Life Environmental Services and its four subsidiaries will enable the group to provide a first class, one-stop-shop range of solutions in a variety of challenging environments." Specialist The management teams within the acquired companies will remain unchanged and the brand names will be retained.
Mr Davy added: "The only change will be that their customers will now be able to benefit from the additional range of services and products available through the Lexia Solutions Group." Formed in 2007, Life Environmental Services, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lexia Solutions Group, will continue to have its head office in Bishop's Stortford and will become the specialist health and safety division of Lexia Solutions Group Lexia's core companies include Rhodar, one of the UK's largest asbestos abatement companies; Thermac,a specialist supplier of equipment, consumables and services to the asbestos removal industry, and Bagnall UK, a demolition and asbestos removal service.
Jason Whitworth, director at BDO Stoy Hayward, based in City Square, Leeds, led a team providing integrated corporate finance, commerce, tax advisory and due diligence services on behalf of Lexia Solutions Group.
Keith Froud, partner at Eversheds, along with solicitor Sarah Turner, managed all legal proceedings of the acquisitions.
