Lee Roth to Retire from Fireman's Fund Insurance Company on May 1; Joe Kinsey Named New Personal Insurance Executive

NOVATO, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Fireman's Fund Insurance Company today announced that Lee Roth, a 32-year industry veteran, will be retiring on May 1, 2014. Roth served as senior vice president, personal insurance executive, responsible for the personal insurance business at Fireman's Fund, which focuses on the specialized needs of the high net worth insurance market. Joe Kinsey, who has reported to Roth at Fireman's Fund for the past two years, has been named her successor.

"Lee is a consummate professional who has dedicated her entire career to serving the high net worth insurance space. She will be missed not only at Fireman's Fund but across the entire industry," said Kathleen O. Zortman, chief field executive for Fireman's Fund. "She was the driving force in realigning our personal insurance business around the unique needs and risk profile of the high net worth individual and worked diligently with her entire team to foster a culture of expertise that will propel us forward for years to come."

During her tenure at Fireman's Fund, Roth is also credited with building a strong management team, increasing client acquisition and retention, enhancing underwriting operations and strengthening Fireman's Fund's position in the high net worth market. She joined Fireman's Fund in 2012 after holding a variety of executive leadership positions with leading high net worth firms. Prior to Fireman's Fund, Roth served as the head of the Private Client Group for North America at AIG and also spent 18 years with Chubb in a number of senior level leadership positions in their personal insurance group. She also worked as a product and underwriting executive at USAA.

"There are many things that make Fireman's Fund a special place. Chief among them is the culture of responding to clients' needs with creative solutions, and claims service that receives praise from our agent an broker partners," said Roth announcing her retirement. "Passing the reins to Joe at this time, someone with whom I've worked for the past 20 years is the perfect way to end my career. I look forward to the team's growth under his leadership," added Roth.

Joe Kinsey, a 27-year industry veteran, has been named the new leader of the personal insurance business. Kinsey joined Fireman's Fund in 2012 as the eastern zone executive for personal insurance and has been instrumental in developing and implementing the strategy that Roth put forth for the business.

Kinsey has a deep and broad base of industry experience, having held leadership positions in underwriting, marketing, agency management and field sales management - all concentrated in the high net worth space. Kinsey has worked with Roth since 1994, and was a member of her teams at Chubb and AIG. As head of the business, Kinsey will remain focused on leveraging Fireman's Fund's superior claims service and broad coverage offering, while also expanding the personal insurance distribution team and devoting resources towards building deeper relationships with agent and broker partners.

"I've always admired Lee's tenacity, leadership and business acumen, so being named her successor is a true honor," said Kinsey. "Together, we've built a strong team and put Fireman's Fund in a great position to continue serving the unique needs of the high net worth client."

Building on the momentum gained during the Roth era, personal insurance at Fireman's Fund will continue to strive for excellence as an expert provider of specialty insurance solutions for high net worth individuals.
