Lebanese telecom workers protest Israeli assault on Gaza [Al-Akhbar (Lebanon)]

(Al-Akhbar (Lebanon) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dozens of employees of Lebanon's state-owned telecommunications company protested in support of Gaza outside their Beirut headquarters Tuesday.

Employees of MTC Touch held pictures showing the devastation in Gaza caused by Israel's relentless assault launched two weeks ago, ending with a moment of silence "in mourning of the lives of the children killed," according to a statement issued by the participants.

"This was an initiative made by MTC employees," IT specialist Majed Abdel Jawad told Al-Akhbar, noting that the protest was not officially sanctioned by the company.

The gathering was the latest in a series of small protests in solidarity with Gaza in Lebanon.

Hundreds of people protested the assault on Monday in Ramlet al-Bayda.
