LEAD: 4 bodies found after house fire in Niigata+

(Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)NIIGATA, Japan, March 16_(Kyodo) _ (EDS: UPDATING WITH 4TH BODY FOUND)

Four people died in a fire at a family home in Nagaoka, Niigata Prefecture, on Wednesday evening, police said.

The police said six people were in the house of Genshichi Bushimata when the fire broke out -- Bushimata, 78, his wife Hana, 79, their grandchildren Emi, 11, Miho, 8, and Sho, 5, and the children's mother Mayumi, 41 -- and that four bodies have been recovered though their identities are not yet known.



Miho and Sho survived and were taken to a hospital, but did not sustain major injuries, the police said, adding that their father Hirokazu, 44, was not at home at the time.
