LawnGuru will use the investment to support its national growth and expansion while continuing the research and development of the company's technology.

In addition to closing its seed round, LawnGuru has recently achieved a series of exciting milestones. The company has grown its revenue by over 1100 percent since 2015. In April it moved headquarters to a new office in downtown Ann Arbor and this summer LawnGuru will be releasing an all-new Android (News - Alert) version of its app.

To accommodate its growth, LawnGuru is hiring several key positions, including sales, customer service, and marketing.

"While LawnGuru has been celebrated by consumers and service providers alike, it's the experience of its co-founders and management team that truly separate the platform from its competition and prepares the company for explosive growth," explained Todd Sullivan, Sierra Wasatch Venture Partner. Co-founders, Brandon Bertrang, and Skye Durrant began cuttings lawns together in high school. Prior to launching the LawnGuru platform they had built a multi-million dollar lawn and landscape business. "Our time spent in this industry has given us an exceptional understanding of both sides of this marketplace," explains LawnGuru Co-founder and CEO, Brandon Bertrang.

LawnGuru was actively recruited to the region by Ann Arbor SPARK after returning from the prestigious Mountain View accelerator and venture firm, 500 Startups. Last fall the company also won $25,000 for best new product & service at the 2015 Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition.

"Ann Arbor SPARK has been a tremendous resource to LawnGuru, connecting the company with local talent, internship opportunities, and helping to build its presence in the Ann Arbor and Detroit tech community," explained Bill Mayer, Ann Arbor SPARK vice president, entrepreneurial services. "Going forward, we'll continue to provide support for LawnGuru's talent and business development needs. It's exciting to have this fast-growth company in the Ann Arbor region."
