KSS Retail Increases Revenue 184% over Three Years

KSS Retail, a leading provider of price and promotion modeling and optimization solutions for retailers worldwide, today announced a significant three-year growth trend with the close of its 2013-14 fiscal year. The company recorded a more than 184 percent increase in revenue from software and services and a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of nearly 70 percent over the past three years, due in part to continuing integration and support from dunnhumby. The world's leading customer science company, dunnhumby acquired KSS Retail in 2010.

The recent fiscal year was highlighted by considerable expansion among KSS Retail's customer base as well as a record number of new users of its price and promotion optimization software. KSS Retail cemented its market-leading position for retailers in the grocery segment in particular, based on total market share, according to industry research. KSS Retail's PriceStrat® solution helps many of the world's largest supermarket chains to accurately forecast shopper behavior and make smart, shopper-focused decisions about promotions strategy. Much of the revenue growth can be attributed to increased PriceStrat adoption in the U.S. and Europe by dunnhumby clients, including The Kroger Co., Tesco U.K., and Raley's Family of Fine Stores.

KSS Retail also continued to independently contract with new high-profile clients and grow its base in other retail segments. A highlight from the past year was the addition of AutoZone to KSS Retail's client base. One the largest auto parts retailers in the world, with more than 5,000 locations, AutoZone selected PriceStrat with an eye on creating relevant promotions that improve customer loyalty.
