Klas Telecom's Voyager Solutions Primed for Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Compatibility

WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Klas Telecom announced today that the Voyager Executive Communications Kit (VoyagerECK), along with the remainder of the modular and scalable Voyager tactical communications product suite, are primed to become compatible with the National Security Agency's (NSA) Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program. The company notified its existing customers that there will be a no-cost, no-additional-hardware upgrade to currently deployed VoyagerECKs, and that equipment purchased today will be useable in CSfC-compliant environments.

Klas Telecom's Voyager Executive Communications Kit (VoyagerECK) provides secure, simultaneous voice, video and data communications in a lightweight, laptop-sized package. VoyagerECK is for use in both executive and tactical environments.

The details of the CSfC roadmap will be revealed at Klas Telecom's annual Users Forum that is scheduled to take place in March 2016. Klas Telecom Services President and CEODave Huisenga disclosed that the roadmap contains a reverse-compatible solution agreeable to the modular, scalable and interoperability design principles upon which the Voyager product line was built.

"Our customers want to be able to leverage the latest commercial encryption technology to transmit sensitive data and we're very pleased that we can rapidly respond to this market demand," Huisenga said. "Voyager's modular design in combination with our robust, in-house software development and engineering teams allow us to deliver technology upgrades to our customers' existing products at very little to no cost, instead of forcing them to invest in new hardware. In this way, we protect our customers' existing investments while at the same time enabling them to remain up to date."

Huisenga further commented that most of the tactical networking edge devices in the market, to include VoyagerECK and the rest of the Voyager networking system of systems, are based on Cisco's 5919 ESR, which is already listed on NSA's CSfC Component List. But, the company's plan to make existing hardware, "as it is today," CSfC-compliant is unique.

The VoyagerECK and other Voyager routing, switching and virtual computing modules are listed on the DISA Approved Products List, and the VoyagerECK is approved for use on the DISA DoD Enterprise Classified Travel Kit Gateway (DECTK-GW).
