KeyPoint Technologies Introduces Industry Leading Keyboard Customization Features in AdaptxtA® App Update for Android Smartphones & Tablets

Jan 08, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- KeyPoint Technologies today introduced new features for its distinctive Adaptxt® brand smart keyboard app that allows Android smartphone and tablet users to extensively personalize and customize their keyboards. Unlike stock Android keyboards, users now have the freedom to change their keyboard color scheme as they see fit, and adjust the height of the keys. Adaptxt is the first to offer real time customization and personalization features.

The new Keyboard Customization features for Android include: The ability to add a vibrant and distinctive keyboard look for their devices from an almost infinite variety of color combinations. Users can express their artistic genius or mood by selecting colors of each keyboard element - the background color of the keyboard, key color, primary QWERTY characters and secondary numbers and symbols.

An on-screen keyboard height adjustment feature, which makes Adaptxt perfectly customizable to small and large screen Android devices.

A new clipboard interface featuring buttons to cut, copy and paste blocks of text and navigation keys to toggle between fields and move the cursor within the message. Users can easily access this interface by sliding their finger from one end to the other of the keyboard.

"Adaptxt as a brand is focused on enhancing the user experience through keyboard customization," said KeyPoint's VP Marketing, Ronald Brown. "We have listened to our users and are developing the Adaptxt keyboard app to better meet their needs, and it's paying off. We've experienced a significant increase in downloads over the past year and adoption continues to climb." The current version of Adaptxt features 68 language dictionaries, from Arabic to Vietnamese, plus 35 industry-specific dictionaries for professions such as business, finance, legal, telecom and medical. The industry-first SMS dictionary provides more than 3,000 shorthand abbreviations - such as lol, btw, gr8 and every1 - to make composing and sending text messages faster while keeping them from exceeding the 160-character limit. In addition to the current selection of dictionaries available, KeyPoint plans to develop additional consumer and enterprise related dictionaries this year.

Adaptxt uses artificial intelligence to identify the unique words and phrases entered by each user and adds them to a personalized custom dictionary. Adaptxt is fundamentally different from - and superior to - traditional predictive solutions, which simply hunt for a match in a predetermined dictionary lexicon, then automatically change what users type, forcing them to go back and manually correct the platform's mistake.

The Adaptxt keyboard app is available now for free from Google Play Store (https://play.google.com), the Amazon App Store and GetJar store.

The upgraded Adaptxt 1.1 keyboard works with any smartphone running Android 2.1 or later. Adaptxt 2.1 for Tablet works with any tablet running Android 2.2 or later.
