KEYMILE: FTTH Conference 2010: KEYMILE with live showcase of optical fibre solution

Hanover,, Feb 03, 2010 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- At the FTTH Conference 2010 in Lisbon on 24 and 25 February, KEYMILE will present its optical multi-service access platform MileGate in a detailed FTTH live showcase. KEYMILE is Gold Sponsor of the FTTH Conference, one of the leading European congress fairs on fibre optic technologies.

KEYMILE is one of the leading manufacturers of Next-Generation data transmission systems. In a live showcase at the FTTH Conference 2010, the company will present MileGate, its optical multi-service access platform that is enhanced for FTTH usage. Fitted with an optical Ethernet card, MileGate can connect up to 480 subscribers from one subrack. Network operators can then feed in analogue or digital cable TV signals simultaneously with IP data traffic. The cable TV signal is transmitted through the same optical fibre as the IP data stream. In the comprehensive live showcase, KEYMILE will demonstrate how network operators can conveniently and cost efficiently supply customers with a range of TV programmes without having to set up complex and costly IPTV infrastructure. The solution is also interesting for cable network operators who can then provide cable TV, Internet access and VoIP via one single optical fibre.

On the stand, KEYMILE will also show MileGate 2011 which was especially developed for FTTB fibre optic connections. Through the optical fibres laid to multi-tenant buildings, network operators can use this micro DSLAM to offer each subscriber voice, data and TV services at more than 100 Mbps. MileGate 2011 includes eight VDSL2 interfaces so that from building basements, via the building's own cabling, individual apartments can be supplied with broadband services. The FTTB solution MileGate 2011 can be used as a stand-alone system, or in conjunction with other members of the MileGate system family.

KEYMILE will also give a presentation at the FTTH Conference in Lisbon. On 24 February, at 4.30 p.m. Wolfgang Spahn, Chief Technical Officer at KEYMILE will be talking about "Building an evolutionary FTTH network: How to improve cash-flow and avoid stranded investments".
