Kazakhstan's SSGPO ups sales 18% in 2 mths

(Interfax News Agency Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)ALMATY. March 23 (Interfax) - Sokolov-Sarbai Mining Production Association (SSGPO), Kazakhstan's biggest iron ore producer, boosted finished product sales 18.2% year-on-year in January-February to 2.172 million tonnes, the company said in a press release.



February sales rose 8.9% year-on-year to 956,000 tonnes.

Commercial iron ore production rose 6.2% year-on-year in February to 1.263 million tonnes.



Crude ore production in February rose 4.6% year-on-year to 2.983 million tonnes, and ore processing grew 5% to 2.986 million tonnes.

Stripping increased to 4.305 million cubic meters, from 3.832 million cu m in February last year. pr
