Junior Achievement to Utilize Evolve IP's Cloud Services

Feb 01, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Evolve IP, The Cloud Services Company, announced it is providing its cloud services to Junior Achievement of Delaware Valley.

According to a release, in addition to the efficiency and productivity benefits gained from capitalizing on cloud computing, Junior Achievement (JA) now enjoys significant cost-savings that it reinvests in programs that educate youth on work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Evolve IP's technology is also enabling the Junior Achievement staff to work remotely, mobilizing the organization so that it can better reach and serve students in the mid-Atlantic region.

Specifically, Junior Achievement is using Evolve IP for cloud services, including: -Unified Communications-Evolve IP's unified communications/hosted IP phone system provides Junior Achievement with improved productivity and reliability while eliminating the maintenance headaches and high costs associated with premise-based systems.

-VDI-Using Evolve IP's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) on their iPads and tablets, Junior Achievement staff obtain high-performing remote access to the organization's data and applications, allowing them to better serve students in the five-county Philadelphia region.

-Virtual Servers-Evolve IP's private cloud service, vServer, is accessed over private connectivity, and functions just as if the servers were still working in the Junior Achievement data center. This means that Junior Achievement is eradicating on-site management, maintenance, and capital expense.

"Now we can focus even more of our efforts on our youth programs instead of IT maintenance," says Paul Kappel, President of Junior Achievement of Delaware Valley. "Evolve IP's virtual desktop solution is truly amazing. We're experiencing real productivity gains and have turned into a mobile unit. I never knew we could do so much on an iPad without making costly system upgrades." Junior Achievement's first program, JA Company Program, was offered on an after-school basis to high school students. In 1975, the organization entered the classroom, and has since expanded its activities and broadened its scope to include in-school and after-school students. Junior Achievement of Delaware Valley reaches 15,000 students annually in the Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Philadelphia Counties.

"Evolve IP is a great supporter of Junior Achievement and we contribute to the organization financially as well as by investing our volunteer time with students," says Guy Fardone, COO and General Manager at Evolve IP. "It's rewarding to be able to provide Junior Achievement with productive technologies that allow it to focus on what is most important to the organization, and that is driving work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financially literacy in our schools." Junior Achievement gives young students the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart choices. It has local corporate volunteers like Vanguard, Lockheed Martin, and Evolve IP that deliver relevant, hands-on programs for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

These programs enable students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied to the real world. They teach students how to manage their finances, develop workforce skills, and become entrepreneurs. The interaction also substantially increases students' understanding of the value of staying in school.

The programs work: When asked if being a JA student positively impacted their future, 92 percent of JA Alumni responded "yes." Over 90 percent of JA alumni indicate they have the confidence that they can compete successfully in a business environment.
