John McCain Better Prepared to Manage Overall Economy, According to New Register.com Survey
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- The Register.com Customer Opinion Poll of small business customers has revealed that more than half (54%) of small businesses believe that Senator John McCain (R-AZ) is better prepared to manage the overall economy vs. only 36% of respondents that believe the same about Senator Barack Obama (D-IL). Additionally, while the majority of respondents believe Senator Obama has demonstrated a better understanding of how to successfully use the Internet, the majority also believes Senator McCain will do more to help small businesses and protect them online.
Additional survey responses indicate:
-- 53% of respondents think Senator Obama has made better use of the Internet in his campaign (vs. 34% that believes the same about Senator McCain).
-- 49% believe Senator Obama has a better understanding of how the Internet can help small businesses (vs. 38% that think Senator McCain has a better understanding of this).
-- 50% think Senator McCain will take more action to protect small businesses online by combating Internet security breaches (vs. 37% that believe Senator Obama will take the same action).
-- 54% believe Senator McCain would consider small businesses as an important part of his overall economic agenda (vs. 38% of the small businesses who felt that Senator Obama would do the same).

The Register.com Customer Opinion Poll was conducted as an informal survey of Register.com customers between August 23 and September 4, 2008. Responses were received from over 700 Register.com customers, 90% of which identified themselves as small businesses. Responses were collected through an online survey provider and results were tallied based on complete responses.
Overall, 93% of respondents indicated their intention to vote in the Presidential election in November. 49.9% of respondents said they are planning to vote for Senator McCain in the upcoming election vs. 35.2% who said they would vote for Senator Obama.
