'JAPAN IR Street' - IR Portal App (Free) in English and Japanese

Energizing Japan's economy depends on the revitalization of Japanese companies. The Nikkei Average is climbing because of the monetary easing of Abenomics. But after excluding Japan's large, well-known companies, the majority of listed companies in Japan are still trading at below book value. The primary cause is inadequate investor relations (IR) activities. There is also an insufficient amount of English-language IR activities with timely information for overseas investors.

In a move to invigorate the stock market by increasing the value of stocks, the Japanese government announced the Japaneseversion of the stewardship code for institutional investors in February 2014. A corporate governance code for companies will be announced in 2015. There will also be measures to increase corporate value, such as strengthening engagement with investors, raising the ROE to more than 8% and electing more outside directors.

These actions are taking place against the backdrop of inflationary actions in Japan. The Government Pension Investment Fund is doubling its weighting of Japanese stocks from 12% to 25% and pension funds, a key asset of the people of Japan, are revising their asset management policies. All these actions signify the opening up of Japanese companies. Many companies will have to undergo dramatic transformations.
