Jacques Topping appointed Chair of INO Board of DirectorsQUEBEC CITY, May 16, 2018 /CNW/ - The members of the National Optics Institute (INO) Board of Directors recently ratified the appointment of Jacques Topping CPA, CA, MBA, ASC as Chair of the Board. In addition to serving as a director on a number of corporate boards, Jacques Topping is the President of the holding company MissionBis and Chair of the Quebec City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIQ) Board of Directors.
After starting his career in 1974 as a programmer, Jacques Topping became a chartered accountant (CA) in 1977 and practiced accounting for five years at Deloitte and other firms. He also holds an MBA (specializing in iformation systems) from Université Laval, which he received in 1984. In 2007 he completed the ASC certified corporate director program. He cofounded the Informission Group (Nurun TSX: NUR), an interactive IT services and software company. By the time he resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company in 2000, the company had completed nine mergers and acquisitions, had over 1,000 employees, and posted annual sales in excess of $120 million under his leadership. Since 2000, Mr. Topping has served on 25 Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees, including 10 as Chair, in the financial, digital, business, associative, and, of course, telecommunications and optics sectors. He has been a member of INO's Board of Directors since 1998.
