IoT Solutions World Congress 2018 to Showcase the Convergence of the IoT, Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain


BARCELONA, Spain, September 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --

IoT Solutions World Congress (http://www.iotsworldcongress.com), the event on innovations in the industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and the digital transformation of different economic sectors, will take place from October 16 to 18 in Barcelona (Spain). Organised by Fira de Barcelona and the IIC (Industrial Internet Consortium), it will comprise a congress, an exhibition area and will exhibit testbeds of new applications. The show will confirm the mass implementation of IoT across a range of industries and will also present the convergence of this technology with artificial intelligence and blockchain.

300 exhibitors, ncluding IT companies, software platform developers, hardware manufacturers, security firms, telecommunications operators, service operators and industrial automation companies will participate in the exhibition area. The list of exhibitors includes ABB, Deloitte, Google Cloud, Huawei, Intel, Microsoft, New Alchemy, SAS, Telit, Vodafone, Wipro, Crypto Quantique, Dassault Systèmes, Fiware, Hitachi, Kaspersky, Libelium, Orange, PTC, relayr, Rigado, Software AG, Telefónica, Thingstream, Uptake, Verizon and Zyfr.



In addition, IoTSWC 2018 will open the testbeds area presenting a dozen IoT applications developed by leading companies. Visitors will be able to see, for example, a smart residential door capable of opening upon the owner's arrival and transforming a garage into a giant mailbox for online shopping deliveries, a fully sensorised fire engine, and a smart platform to control water quality and help saving Beluga whales in Alaska.

As for the Congress, it will gather together more than 250 experts to discuss the impact of IoT solutions on different environments. The sessions will revolve around nine thematic axes: connected transport, manufacture of goods, healthcare, energy and supplies, construction and infrastructure, facilitating technologies, blockchain and artificial intelligence, the latter two with their own forums.
