Intrinio Releases Stock Screener for Microsoft Excel and Excel Online

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- This month, Intrinio officially released the Intrinio Screener for Microsoft Excel (ISE), a stock screener for Excel Online and Excel Desktop. The screener leverages Intrinio financial data to deliver a seamless experience, enabling Microsoft office users to filter equities without an expensive subscription or leaving the ecosystem where analysis will take place.

"Our team is thrilled to release ISE, the first ever stock screener within the Excel ecosystem," said Rachel Carpenter, CEO of Intrinio. "Office 365 is the ideal platform for a stock screener because Excel provides the foundation for financial analysis. It's a great value for users who can now filter and analyze stocks in one application. We're excited about the future of cloud-based spreadsheets, and we want our users to be able to access data and tools dynamically, on the go, with the ability to collaborate and share in the Office environment. Previously, there was no way to screen companies conveniently within the Excel platform, and there was no way for users of financial data to collaborate and share their analyses and models."

ISE is free up to 500 daily data points, and plans including more data start at just $10/month. The screener is available for download in the Office store. The user interface appears as a side panel within Excel and enables users to sort through US equities, filtering them based on over 500 parameters. Filter byP/E ratio, dividend yield, headquarters location, market cap, or even company descriptions that include the word "mobile" – all directly within the Microsoft Excel ecosystem.

Once search parameters have been selected, the resulting list of securities can be exported directly into an Excel worksheet for further analysis with the Intrinio Excel add-in. The add-in, a free download for Excel, can be used to analyze the screener output in a watch-list, DCF, or custom model.

The company lookup feature enables users to get a snapshot of a security's price performance. See one month, three month, six month, year to date, one year, and all available price performance in candlestick format. Pricing metrics such as high, low, open, 52-week high, 52-week low, target price, volume, average volume and dividend yield are conveniently displayed in the sidebar.

"ISE is a great example of how Microsoft can work with innovative companies to make financial analysis easy. Joint users can filter stocks to find the companies they want to look at, then move seamlessly to analyzing them with Intrinio's Excel add-in," said Rob Howard, director, Office 365 Ecosystem, Microsoft.

The Office 365 platform provided Intrinio with the flexibility to build an innovative stock-screening tool directly within Excel Online. The screener is powered by a financial data API that integrates seamlessly, enabling Excel users to screen any US company on over 500 parameters and import the data directly into the workbook. They can then leverage Intrinio's Excel add-in to pull in financial data to analyze the stocks they have screened. The Office 365 platform makes it easy for users to work and analyze on the go, anywhere, anytime, on any device, easily sharing and collaborating. The flexibility of Excel is ideal for financial analysis, and the power of the screener adds a valuable tool to that analysis.
