InstallFree Named 'Hot Company to Watch in 2008'

InstallFree, a provider of Dynamic Desktop Computing, announced it has
been selected by Forrester Research as one of its "Hot Companies to
Watch in 2008."
According to company officials, Dynamic Desktop Computing is an
approach that delivers applications to end-users across a variety of
usage scenarios without the need to install software.
InstallFree noted it launched its first product in April 2008. The
company added it has recently completed a financing round of $8.5
million led by Ignition Partners and Trilogy Equity Partners. The
funding will be used to expand InstallFree's presence in North America
and Europe as well as to accelerate product development efforts.
According to the June 2008 Forrester report titled Hot Companies to
Watch in 2008: Q2 Update, "Forrester believes that virtualization is no
longer just an emerging trend - it's the future of the corporate PC.
While InstallFree's products are only one incremental innovation in an
increasingly competitive virtualization market landscape, the value
proposition is compelling. IT managers gain the ability to centrally
deploy and manage single applications and reduce application conflicts,
while users get greatly improved flexibility with regard to where and
how they access their custom applications."
Christopher Andrews of Forrester Research writes, "In addition,
InstallFree addresses two of the largest issues that still inhibit
virtualization's widespread acceptance: It simplifies the client
software management and cordons off sensitive applications for security
purposes. With products like InstallFree addressing the few remaining
barriers to the use of virtualized applications, expect the pace at
which applications virtualization becomes adopted to accelerate."
