Ingate Solutions Added to Westcon's Offerings
(Wireless News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)
Ingate Systems, which develops firewall technology and products,
announced that it has been selected by Westcon, a specialty distributor
of advanced network technology solutions, to add its Ingate Firewall,
Ingate SIParator, and a broad range of security solutions for SIP
(Session Initiation Protocol) to the Westcon portfolio of enterprise
offerings.
Ingate will be participating in Westcon Group's CollaborationPoint
OpenSource program, a targeted solutions program that helps resellers
deliver business-class, open source communication solutions to their
end-user communities.
Ingate's security edge devices allow businesses to use VoIP and all
other forms of SIP communication by solving the Network Address
Translation (NAT) traversal issues with the protocol, while maintaining
the security and integrity of the enterprise network. They are fully
interoperable with the Digium/Asterisk PBX, an open source PBX,
telephony engine and applications toolkit. They also work seamlessly
with other IP-PBXs, including all of Westcon's Foundation Vendors, and
Internet telephony service providers (ITSPs), to SIP-enable the
enterprise network.
"Ingate's interoperability with most major IP-PBXs makes them an
extremely flexible solution for SIP-enabling the enterprise in any
environment, including open source. Ingate's portfolio of products and
their participation in our CollaborationPoint OpenSource program is a
very positive development in broadening our offering to customers,"
said Dan Pirro, group commercial sales manager, Westcon Group.
Ingate products also enable enterprise adoption of SIP trunking, a new
application offered by many service providers that rapidly reduces
costs by eliminating the need for an enterprise PSTN gateway, unused
BRI/PRI capacity, expensive and underutilized phone lines or trunks at
remote offices, and by providing PSTN termination in the local area.
Ingate Firewalls and SIParators also support remote users. With Ingate
Remote SIP Connectivity software module, mobile workers can utilize the
corporate IP-PBX from any location as if they were in the office. In
addition, Ingate's SIP-based security technology provides the highest
level of security for all realtime applications based on SIP (SIP
trunks, VoIP, IM, video etc.).
"Ingate Firewalls and SIParators provide an easy, elegant solution for
SIP-enabling enterprises, allowing businesses to leverage the wealth of
SIP-based applications available now and in the future. They also
provide the high level of security -- for both data traffic and SIP
communications such as VoIP -- necessary for enterprises," said Steven
Johnson, president, Ingate Systems. "We are proud to have been selected
by Westcon to add our unique SIP-based edge devices to their product
portfolio."
