Infor- Gearing Up for Growth in Tissues and Towels

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 15 September 2014 Release date- 12092014 - Tissue and towel manufacturer Northwood Cos. has deployed a suite of Infor applications as part of a standardization project that is expected to reduce costs and drive growth.

Northwood owns a diverse mix of associated companies within the tissue and towel manufacturing and converting industry, as well as being a JV partner in the consumer, private-label tissue manufacturer Northwood & Wepa Ltd.

'Following a period of intense integration and growth across our businesses, we knew we needed a robust platform as we continue to develop our businesses,' said Paul King, Northwood CFO. 'We have rapidly evolved our technology capability to a proactive, intelligence-driven strategy that demonstrates wide ambition and will drive future investment.' Integrated via Infor ION, Infor System21 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Infor Supply Chain Execution (SCE), the Infor suite of applications purchased by Northwood is designed to deliver standardization benefits such as a centralized view of operations and an integrated demand, supply, production, and execution plan. It is also designed to create a foundation for substantial growth as Northwood Hygiene Products Ltd consolidates companies within the group.

Infor Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) is expected to help Northwood improve uptime of production plant and machinery within its high-volume manufacturing environment and reduce carried inventory of engineering stocks.

'Manufacturers such as Northwood recognize the benefits of standardized processes and integrated systems that can facilitate a platform for flexibility and growth,' said Mark Humphlett, Infor industrial manufacturing industry director. 'This project has already led to a significant reduction in inventory and is expected to increase Northwood's ROI as a result of implementing templated processes, improved collaboration, and transparency between ERP and supply chain decision making.'
