ILS Enhances Value to Health Plans and Their Members Through Partnership with Voxiva and TracFone

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

Independent Living Systems (ILS) has partnered with Voxiva, Inc. and TracFone Wireless, Inc. to help their health plan clients provide added value to their members by providing them with free mobile phones and health messaging programs.

ILS has chosen to pioneer this value-added offer with their client, Integral Quality Care, whose members receive a TracFone phone with 250 monthly minutes, unlimited text messaging and toll-free calls to member services. Members also have access to Voxiva's digital health programs for maternal and child health (Text4baby and Text4kids), and adult health and wellness (Txt4health). These programs encourage members to follow recommended guidelines for preventive care, vaccinations and screenings, and inform them of health plan benefits.

"Our partnership with Voxiva and TracFone allows us to provide not only a value to our clients but to their members as well," said Nestor Plana, President and CEO, ILS. He continued, "We are confident that by providing these services we are having a positive impact on the health and well-being of our participating members."

Voxiva developed these services to help health plans improve key quality measures (HEDIS & EPSDT) and increase member retention. Independent evaluations demonstrate improved outcomes on key quality measures, including appointment attendance and timely immunizations.

"Voxiva has been improving the health of expectant and new moms, children, adults, and people with diabetes, for more than 13 years through our innovative digital health programs," said Paul Meyer, Chairman & President, Voxiva. "Our partnership with ILS and TracFone will help people improve their quality of health at no cost to them or their health care provider," concluded Meyer.

"Empowering individuals to have access to telecommunications, especially mobile phones, is essential," said F.J. Pollak, president and CEO, TracFone Wireless, Inc. "Not only will they have the ability to receive reminders via text, but it also gives them the peace of mind knowing that should an emergency exist - they are connected. We are proud to provide Integral with the tools necessary to help their members stay connected while lowering costs."
