IEEE Taps Rodney Spady as Senior Director, Digital Marketing and Communications

IEEE, a technical professional association, announced the addition of Rodney Spady as senior director, digital marketing and communications.
The group said Spady, who assumed this newly-created position on 6 February, will lead the teams responsible for managing the public face of IEEE. These areas include IEEE branding, corporate communications, public visibility initiatives, creative services, and social media.
Spady, a member of the IEEE Marketing, Sales, and Design team, will play a key role in the strategic effort to raise the profile and manage the perception of the IEEE brand across global markets, the public, and other key audiences.
Before joining IEEE, Spady served as director of integrated marketing and media for Johnson and Johnson Inc.'s (J&J) Global Marketing Group based out of New York City. In this capacity, he focused on digital marketing and media efforts for J&J's over the counter and nutritional brands.
Prior to his work at J&J, Spady was director of global digital marketing and chief Web officer for Novartis Consumer Health, Parsippany, N.J., where he was instrumental in launching global and strategic brand digital marketing strategies and initiatives. Among his many accomplishments, his work was recognized with a 2010 OTC National Advertising Gold Award for Best Website Campaign and a Silver Award for the Best Digital Media Campaign, for the Triaminic brand.
Spady's experience also includes nearly 20 years in telecommunications marketing at companies including Lucent Technologies, Global Crossing, Interconnect Services Group, MCI Telecommunications, and NanoOpto Corp.
