IDS Scheer and Grupo ASSA Collaboration Delivers Significant BPM Inroads in Latin America in 2005; Major Customer Wins with Petrobras and OSDE Ignite IDS Scheer in Region
MIAMI --(Business Wire)-- Feb. 14, 2006 -- IDS Scheer, the leading provider of solutions for business process excellence, today announced at ProcessWorld 2006 that its IDS Scheer South America business unit has seen major growth in the region through its collaborative partnership with Grupo ASSA. Grupo ASSA is one of the leading business process management consulting firms in Latin America and was selected by IDS Scheer to become its partner in the region in 2005.
The growth in the region is due to the increase in ARIS Platform sales. License sales for the six-month period ending December 31, 2005 exceeded full Fiscal Year targets by 50%, and included the first ARIS UML Designer project to be sold in Latin America. IDS Scheer recently announced major enhancements to its award-winning ARIS Platform. This breakthrough release features unsurpassed levels in usability with a newly redesigned graphical user interface (GUI) that offers existing users the functionality they need while extending ARIS to a broader universe of end users that are increasingly becoming more involved in business process management initiatives. ARIS Platform provides support for the entire business process lifecycle and delivers the capability to design more efficient, standards-based enterprise architectures. In addition, the ARIS Platform provides tighter integration with SAP NetWeaver for extending the ARIS process reference models to SAP supported functionality.
In 2005, Grupo ASSA-led ARIS projects included Petrobras, the largest oil company in South America, and OSDE, one of the leading healthcare service providers in Argentina.
"We are delighted with the immediate success of our partnership with Grupo ASSA in Latin America. In such a short time span, we have made a major impact with BPM implementations for large organizations in the region," said Dr. Mathias Kirchmer, CEO of IDS Scheer for the Americas. "This is a validation of our proven ARIS Platform and testament to the international acceptance of BPM within this tech-savvy region of the world. We look forward to jointly expanding our BPM leadership position in the market during 2006."
According to Luis Alberto Piemonte, IDS Scheer South America managing director, this new partnership with Grupo ASSA will expand IDS Scheer's BPM footprint within Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. "Based on this dynamic collaboration of our BPM tools and SAP expertise with Grupo ASSA's consulting know how in these countries, we look forward to major growth opportunities in 2006 and beyond."
Grupo ASSA, founded in 1992 with more than 500 consultants and offices in Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Mexico City and Buenos Aires, is a consulting and outsourcing firm that helps its customers improve their business processes using Information Technology across Latin America.
