Idaho Driver Record Dashboard Receives Prestigious Award

The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators bestowed the Idaho Driver Record Dashboard online service (www.accessidaho.org/itd/monitoring) with its Innovative Use of Technology Award at AAMVA's regional conference in Portland, Oregon.

The service was also named the award's International Winner and will formally receive that honor at the AAMVA's 2016 Annual International Conference in August.

"Thanks to a partnership between the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and the state of Idaho's portal provider, Access Idaho, an innovatie information tool was created that promotes highway safety by giving employers a convenient way to monitor the driving record of their employees who operate both commercial and non-commercial vehicles," said Ed Pemble, ITD driver services manager.

The service provides a convenient alternative to the process of looking up driver's license records one-by-one and/or calling ITD to verify driver medical certificates. In addition, it is designed to increase public safety and help companies mitigate risk by flagging monitored driver records with convictions or suspensions so organizations can keep high-liability, potentially dangerous drivers off the road.

The Access Idaho-ITD partnership operates under a self-funded model in which no tax dollars or state funds were used.
