ICA Launches HIT Me Blog as Ongoing Commentary on Current Issues in Health Information Technology and Healthcare
NASHVILLE, Tenn. --(Business Wire)--
ICA
(www.icainformatics.com),
a leading provider of interoperability technology that enables health
information exchange (HIE), announced the launch of HIT
Me Blog, a blog that will take up and address the numerous
issues facing healthcare, health information technology (HIT) and health
information exchange (HIE).
"With the HIT industry at the heart of so many government policies and
with the industry moving forward with such strong and powerful
technology, the time is ripe for open discussions that frame the key
questions and concerns of the day, especially as healthcare finally
evolves into an industry where information technology is as central as
in other industries," said John
Tempesco, chief marketing officer at ICA. "ICA has never shied away
from taking thought leadership positions, whether through its technology
development, initiatives to host open testing forums for vendors
(ICAetc), or its willingness to discuss and lead on critical issues as
they relate to HIE and HIT."
Initial blogs include discussions on vendor collaboration to improve
interoperabiliy; an overview
of HIMSS12 in Las Vegas; comment and analysis on why ICD10
has stalled and a discussion suggesting why; how interoperability
could end client server electronic medical record (EMR) deployments; how
"mega-change"
is needed for HIEs to flourish, and an overview of the interoperability
showcase at HIMSS12.
Future blogs will include discussions on clinical communications,
patient engagement, patient centricity, privacy vs. utility, managing
"Big Data" in health IT, the seamless managing of transitions of care,
care coordination and patient collaboration, clinical analytics, care
collaboration, mobile health and more. ICA's HIT me Blog can be found at www.icainformatics.com/blog.
