HYPE Foundation Together With Temple University Launches a Sports Innovation Competition Alongside the NFL Draft


PHILADELPHIA, April 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- HYPE Foundation, a global platform connecting and investing in sports innovation, announced today its "Sports Innovation Final (SPIN)" competition, with a focus on American football and sports innovations, will take place on April 25 & 26, at Temple University, the hosting and participating partner. This competition will crown the Most Innovative Sports Startup leading up to the grand prize, mega exposure and the opportunity to impact the world of sports. The application is open to sports startups that bring innovative solutions to this arena. Registration will be closed on April 7th. Click here to apply.          

The ten chosen innovative startups will pitch their companies to leading figures from top Sports and Tech Brands, Investors, the NFL Community, and a Jury that will include Mrs. JoAnne A. Epps, Executive Vice President & Provost at Temple University, Mr. Rod Nenner, Vice President at Washington Redskins as Head of the Jury, and Mr. Benjamin Alamar, Director of Sports Analytics at ESPN, among others esteemed members.       

The event will incorporate two days dedicated to promoting innovation in sports; the first day will hold an on-campus hackathon, with student mentoring in the ideation process, to present solutions that will better the world of American football and sports. The second day will include a networking and poster session prior to the main competition that will include sports tech as well as NFL influencers and leaders, taking place at the Temple University Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. The final is located near the venue of the 82nd Annual NFL Draft to select newly eligible football players, to be held April 27-29 in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
